“…something I have made with my own hands, so it’s a bit like home to me.”

Victor Mpofu,

Groundskeeper

I have been tending to this garden for over 16 years, dating back to when this (Bryanston residency) was still a guest house. I feel this is my garden, something I have made with my own hands so it’s a bit like home to me. The plants were a lot smaller when I first arrived. Now they have grown and it’s a lot greener. While some may see it as just a garden, I see it as another part of helping the people who call this home. They take lots of walks in the garden. They like the outside and the outdoors. In my own way, I’m contributing to their wellbeing by keeping the grounds beautiful – not just for the patients, but for everyone who works here and visits, so it’s a big responsibility.
