Dementia Advice

Dementia is not a specific disease. It’s an overall term that describes a group of symptoms associated with a decline in memory or other thinking skills severe enough to reduce a person’s ability to perform everyday activities. Alzheimer’s disease accounts for 60 to 80 percent of cases. For more information, download and share our dementia fact sheet.

Caring for your loved one at home vs placing them in a facility

My loved one may have dementia what do I do?

At Livewell we pride ourselves in staying up to date on international best practice and innovation in the memory care space and love sharing what we learn. If you need more information or are considering a facility for a loved one, get in touch and one of our specialised family advisors will contact you to understand and discuss your unique requirements or join in on one of our monthly support groups.

Our aim is to equip families, spouses and care providers with ways to sustain themselves when they face difficulty or when a spouse is diagnosed with dementia. The Livewell Wellness Talks are informative sessions presented by the Livewell team and other industry thought leaders.

Unfortunately during the lockdown, we were unable to host physical events but recorded online videos for you to watch in your own time. Here is an example of one of these videos with more talks available on our YouTube channel.
